Sierra Configuration & Requirements

Description

The CaiaSoft® / Sierra integration is a one-way connection from Caiasoft® to the Sierra API. For items accessed, CaiaSoft® will utilize the Sierra Item API and Bib API to retrieve attributes (title, author, volume, call number, etc) of each item.

Status & item level location information can be automatically updated in Sierra (v6.0) when an item is accessed or circulated.

For circulation, CaiaSoft® will query the Sierra Item API at pre-determined intervals for items in desiginated locations that have had a hold placed.

Use the Administration Module, the API & External Links button to see view/edit all settings.
If your facility is using multiple Sierra connections for different collections, contact CaiaSoft® support to assist in the initial setup.

Additional Information

For bib-level holds, it is possible to format a picklist and print it into a CaiaSoft® notification. Contact CaiaSoft® for more details.
